RoadBacked Research

RoadBacked Driver Evidence Research

RoadBacked studies how drivers document, organize, preserve and use road-incident evidence.

This section will host RoadBacked's original research and structured public resources. We have not yet published an original dataset, and we do not republish figures we cannot source. Until our own studies are ready, the pages below describe the areas we are building toward.

Driver Evidence

Research into dash cam adoption, evidence preservation, and how drivers document incidents.

Accident & Claim Workflows

Analysis of the steps drivers face after collisions, hit-and-runs, and insurance claims.

State-by-State Resources

Structured public information on crash reporting, evidence rules, and driver resources.

Road Incident Trends

Future aggregated RoadBacked research based only on lawful, appropriately anonymized data.

How we will handle data

  • RoadBacked will not publish statistics it has not actually produced or sourced.
  • Member incident content is private and is never published as research material.
  • Any future aggregate research will be lawful, appropriately anonymized and clearly described in its methodology.
  • We do not announce publication dates before a study is complete.

In the meantime, our driver evidence guides and free driver tools are the practical resources available today. Our editorial standards explain how we source and review everything we publish.
