Editorial Standards

How RoadBacked researches and publishes driver guidance.

Our guides cover accident evidence, insurance claims, police encounters and traffic citations. These are the standards we hold that content to.

What we publish

RoadBacked publishes educational driver-information content about dash cam evidence, accident documentation, insurance claim workflows, traffic stops and evidence preservation. Guides are written by the RoadBacked Editorial Team.

Sourcing

Primary sources are preferred wherever they exist: state agencies, departments of motor vehicles, departments of insurance, transportation and public-safety agencies, official court resources and insurers' own published guidance. We supplement with reputable national publications only where a primary source is unavailable.

Review

Legal and insurance information is reviewed for accuracy where qualified review is available. When no qualified reviewer has reviewed an article, we do not display a reviewer credit. We do not present staff, contributors or reviewers as attorneys, adjusters or licensed professionals unless that is verifiably true.

Updates

Content is updated when laws, agency guidance, insurer practices or other material facts change. Each guide shows its publication date and its last meaningful update date. We do not bump dates automatically to appear fresh.

No fabricated facts

RoadBacked does not fabricate statistics, studies, outcomes, credentials, certifications or testimonials. Where a figure cannot be sourced, we describe the situation qualitatively instead of inventing a number.

Not individualized advice

Educational content is not individualized legal, insurance or claims advice. Rules and outcomes vary by jurisdiction, insurer, policy and circumstances. RoadBacked is not a law firm, an insurance carrier, a public adjuster or an emergency service.

Corrections

If you believe something we published is inaccurate or out of date, report it through RoadBacked support at (859) 492-5818 (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM ET) or through your member dashboard. We review correction reports and update the affected guide where warranted.
